Bought a Craftsman variable speed jig saw from Lowes about 2 years ago or less.
It has the adjustable orbiting dial and a light to illuminate the blade. After using it just a few times, the orbiting feature stopped working completely, and the light also stopped working. I paid 89 dollars for it. Just bought one from Harbor Freight, a Bauer model for 49 dollars. It has several adjustable orbit settings and a lazer. I'm expecting this to last a lot longer than the Craftsman. I also found out that Craftsman brand sabre saw blades are not compatible with Bauer tools, so also had to buy some Bauer blades.
Without a functioning orbiting feature, cutting most materials takes longer.
The website says it’s takes U shank blades while the video says it takes both U and T blades. Does it take both or not?
