Makita is a pioneer in brushless motor engineering, battery technology, and miter saw innovation and has combined this expertise in the 18V X2 LXT® (36V) Lithium-Ion Brushless 10″ Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw. It’s powered by two 18V Lithium-Ion batteries for 36V power and performance, but without leaving the 18V LXT® platform. Makita brushless motors are engineered for up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed, and longer tool life. The XSL06 has an efficient BL™ Brushless Motor that delivers up to 4,400 RPM for fast and efficient cutting, with Automatic Speed Change™ technology to adjust cutting speed and torque under load for optimum performance.
The XSL06 has a unique 2-steel rail sliding system design that offers single slide-glide operation for smooth and dead-on accurate cutting right out of the box, as well as a reduced overall footprint that allows the saw to be positioned flush against a wall. The innovative direct-drive gearbox and guard system is engineered for increased vertical cutting capacity (5-1/4”) and crown molding cutting capacity (6-5/8” nested), the largest in its class. It will also crosscut a 4×12 at 90 degrees. The saw miters 0° to 60° left and right, with positive stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, 45° and 60° (left or right). The bevel lock is located in the front of the saw for easy access and quick adjustments from 0° to 48° (left and right).
The direct drive gearbox with soft start is a key point of difference. Direct drive enables smoother start-ups and consistent, constant power with no belts to slip or replace. The electric brake provides added convenience. Additional features include a high-quality 60T carbide-tipped blade, built-in laser that indicates the line-of-cut, and improved dust collection capability for use with a bag (included) or vacuum (sold separately). It also has a large-sized aluminum base that improves the stability of cutting stock for more efficient cutting
It’s part of Makita’s expanding 18V Lithium-Ion system, the world’s largest cordless tool system powered by 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style batteries. Makita 18V Lithium-Ion batteries have the fastest charge times in their categories, so they spend more time working and less time sitting on the charger.
For improved tool performance and extended battery life, Makita created Star Protection Computer Controls™. Star Protection is communication technology that allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time and monitor conditions during use to protect against overloading, over-discharging and overheating. For increased versatility, the tool can also be powered by Makita 18V LXT® and Compact Lithium-Ion batteries with the star symbol on the battery indicating Star Protection inside.

Makita America, do yourself a favor and lose the "Hollywood Voice Guy". You're representing a world-wide respected company and it makes the video look like a joke.
Could’ve put a worklight on the mf. What’s a led cost these days ? .06? X100 % mark up, I would’ve paid the extra $6.
I have been using Makita tools since the 1980's starting with their 7 1/4 circular saw. I invested heavily into their cordless platform as it evolved from nimh to lithium but when they changed from 18v to 40v (36volt in reality) without a hybrid battery platform they lost me. I purchased about 22 new tools last year. Two 10 inch Bosch 18v profactor miter saws a Bosch 18v jigsaw and a Bosch 1330 hammer drill along with at least 8 batteries. The rest of the purchases were MetaboHPT mainly because of their dual voltage battery platform and 120/36volt hybrid platform. After receiving a XSL06PT miter saw for the holiday I was blown away by the quality of construction. That is until I went through a 2.5 hour calibration nightmare. The saw was a full 7 degrees out on the left side bevel and every other adjustment required resetting. After all was done the saw is permanently out on the right side miter by 1 t0 1.5 degrees. The detent plate on this saw is cut uneven from one side to the other as testes with a caliper. The reviews are all over the web about this problem yet Makita only has the generic "take it to your local service center" answer. I told the tech department I have never had to visit a Makita service center and I am not about to start with a brand new out of the box $1000 saw. I was a Makita fanboy I guess you could say but over the past few years they really dropped the ball on the contractors until the 40v line came out but that left all of the loyal base that were on the LXT platform screwed with the fact of being force on to two different battery platforms. So I figured if I was going to buy two platforms why not two brands and that is when I discovered the versatility of the other tool brand. I called Makita and explained all of this and other than admitting the known truth they chose to blow it off and send it to the service center. So long Makita.
I have missed hearing this voiceover announcer on your videos. GREAT saw by the way! The two batteries were definitely the way to go.
Can you cut a 4×6 timber with this machine?? also does the Bluetooth work with the Festool ct26 fitted with the Bluetooth add on ??
Thanks
Does anyone know what crown stops this saw uses? I can get an answer to this, including two calls to Makita customer service!
Hey makita, why don't you advertise the 6ah batteries? They are phenomenal! I paid $40 more per battery (compared to the 3.0) for twice the run time, and it really is twice the run time! Worth every penny.
You guys should have made it to accept batteries or an ac power adapter, like the Dewalt 790. I'm a Makita guy, but if I was in the market for a new miter saw today, my money would go to the Dewalt. And you really have no excuse, the Dewalt 790 has been out for over a year. You knew where to aim and still missed.
can you get the same saw with a cord? im looking for a corded mitre saw for my workshop
This would be really good if it could compete with the dewalt 780 but yeh nah we shall see
